This included leading the Augustinian order and, most recently, a crucial position in the Vatican, overseeing the selection of bishops worldwide. This diverse background, spanning continents, has shaped him into a truly global shepherd for the Universal Church.

A momentous announcement has arrived from the Vatican! With hearts full of joy and anticipation, we welcome His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, formerly known as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost. His election marks a truly historic moment in the life of the Catholic Church. It is a special grace for the United States of America, as he is the first American ever to ascend to the See of Peter.

Chosen by the Conclave

His Holiness was chosen by the College of Cardinals during the sacred Conclave held within the Vatican. Following venerable tradition, the Cardinals gathered, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit through prayerful discernment and casting their sacred ballots.
On the second day of the Conclave, the eagerly awaited white smoke billowed from the Sistine Chapel chimney. This sign signaled to the world that a new Successor of Saint Peter had been chosen, called to guide the Church forward in faith and charity.

The election of Pope Leo XIV has resonated across the globe, drawing heartfelt congratulations from many, including prominent leaders in the United States.
